Let me help you have the best postpartum experience and recovery!

Being pregnant is wonderful. And exhausting. And stressful. Hell, you’re making a brand new human being! And once you bring that baby home, not only do you still have to care for this helpless little person, but your body is now like a flabby warzone. Postpartum healing, mentally and emotionally and physically, is draining and difficult to endure.

Real Simple Mama has lots of articles to help you through this uncharted territory. While I do have lots of articles about preparing to bring home your baby, I don’t want to overlook the care that you need after birth.  I’ll recommend items that can help you heal, strategies which have worked for me, and other relevant content.

The goal here is to educate and support you in your postpartum journey. It’s a crazy ride! But the best one of your life.

The Crappy Postpartum Symptom No One Talks About

It took me having two kids and going to various specialists before I really learned anything about this common postpartum condition. My First Two Weeks As A Mother

I wrote this right after my son was born in 2013. I read over it the other night and it made me smile (and cringe). I pass it on to you…

What I found was a lot of confusing and overwhelming amounts of information on taking care of a newborn. I didn’t know where to begin and couldn’t make sense of it all. As a man with a very analytical personality, I began feeling very uncomfortable with the idea that I’d be responsible for the life of our newborn son and I didn’t have the slightest clue on how to make sure he was taken care of and safe.

Then my sister sent me a gift in the mail. It was a book called ‘The Baby Owner’s Manual‘. At first I laughed thinking it was a gag gift. She knew my about my apprehension with being a new father so I figured she was just poking fun at me. I had seen this book for sale online and thought it’d be funny to buy but I really just thought it would only be good for a few laughs.

I was very pleasantly surprised to find that it is actually a very good guide. Yes, it’s written just like an owner’s manual for a new gadget, but that’s part of the reason why it’s so good.
