My oldest child turns six this month! I always write a note to go in his journal, and this year is no exception. I hope you enjoy this letter to my son on his sixth birthday, called “Never Stop Growing”, and feel free to use it as a template with your own child!

Whether it’s for after dinner, lazy weekend mornings, or for when friends are over, every family should have a stash of fun games to play. Our kids are three and five, and absolutely love all kinds of games! And this is why I was excited to get the opportunity to review Lumpy Cubes, one of the bright original creations by RoosterFin. Tattoos are fantastic. They’re a beautiful and unique way to express yourself or commemorate a special person or event. Loved ones use ink as artistic therapy, as a timeless reward, and as a way to stand out from the crowd. I got a tattoo when I turned 18 but now I’m a mom, and I’m ready to get some skin art to honor my son. But wait a minute: how do you go about that?! Here’s a real simple guide to getting tattoos… when you have kids. Continue reading
A mom can be the hardest person to shop for: they typically never ask for anything for themselves, and you’d feel like a jerk if you just gave them a new vacuum or blender. Babies are so fantastic: they’re adorable, resilient, and don’t require much. But that leaves loved ones in a bit of a predicament: what exactly do you get for someone who has a baby? You could always go the Target gift card route, but if you’re old-school like me you like for the parents to have something to really “open.” Plus it’s so much more fun to shop for a baby! Here are my suggestions for the best creative gifts for babies: they’re original, they’re useful, and I can promise you that they will be appreciated! Continue reading
Last night, as my baby slept in my arms, I wrote letters to her and to my 2.5 year old son. I’ve kept a journal for my boy since before I was even pregnant, writing wishes and thoughts on paper. I have one for my little daughter too, telling her of my pregnancy journey and all the wonderful things she does. I’m begging you to do something similar for your children. Write to your kids, or paint, or record your voice. Something. It is so worth it. Continue reading
