My Review of the Vertplanter 2.0

  • I do have an affiliate link here if you’d like to purchase your Vertplanter 2.0 through me – no uncharge to you, but I get a cut, so thanks!
  • I like how it was shipped – it was packaged extremely well and even though the box got a bit beaten up on the way to me, my Vertplanter was in perfect condition!
  • Communication with the company has been great!
  • After setting up, I was concerned that the terra cotta might seep out onto the drainage tray, but that never happened at all! No leaks!
  • Only use filtered, purified, or reverse osmosis (RO) water with your Vertplanter.
  • Not sure what to plant? – let’s go with chia! I used a ratio of about two tablespoons of food grade chia seeds (yep the same ones I use in my snacks) to about a quarter cup of water; this made a paste that I then applied by hand to the sides. The unique texturing was great for this!
  • This piece is really pleasing to look at, but I wasn’t thrilled with the practicality. You have to keep the Vertplanter full of water so I was having to top off every day or two; additionally it’s recommended that you also hand-spray the outside of the planter daily. So in the end, it looks really cool but I felt I had to babysit it too much (especially in Texas summers, when we’d be traveling).
  • As of right now, the Vertplanter only comes with the pot and tray, no straps or other attachments as mentioned in the instructions. They do make a version which comes with a lid for the top of the main cylinder, which is a good idea as it will help curb evaporation out of the top!
  • If you need the manual which came with this product, I have it for you here. You can see dimensions and other product suggestions.
