Teething jewelry has to be one of the greatest parenting inventions since the sippy cup. It is fashionable, inexpensive, and super useful. My husband got me a Bumkins Nixi teething necklace – you can see that review here. But while the concept is fantastic, that particular necklace left a lot to be desired. So I decided to get another one! But what did I think of this one – the Chewbeads Waverly necklace? Continue reading

Imagine you’ve been praying for the souls of your future children since you were 14. You marry your high school sweetheart and you know you want a house full of kids.
And then you’re told you may never be a mother.
That’s what happened to me. And don’t worry, my story has a happy ending. But I had a long road to walk, often alone, carrying the burdens of emotional and physical pain. My hope is that this article will shine some light into life with endometriosis and infertility, and remind you that when it comes to getting pregnant… Well, it ain’t over till it’s over, sister. It took me having two kids and going to various specialists before I really learned anything about this common postpartum condition. It’s like this taboo thing which is fairly familiar, but I never read anything about it in all of my research. And it’s frankly stupid that moms aren’t made aware of it. Because, frankly, it sucks. This book was my favorite reference text during my first pregnancy. It’s called Your Pregnancy Week By Week by Glade B. Curtis, MD, MPH and Judith Schuler, MS. Here’s a quick, straight forward review for current and future families. Continue reading
My second child’s birth was so different from my first. I feel like I redeemed myself from what I didn’t like the first time around, and having a midwife instead of a typical OB-in-a-hospital was a game changer. I wrote out my natural birth story originally as a letter to my daughter about her big day! (Proper nouns have been changed to protect privacy.) Warning, it’s a long post and just a teeny bit graphic. But just a teeny bit. Read on if you’d like to see what a real-life natural birth at a birth center can be like! Thanks for sharing my natural birth story with me.
Well here it is – how I brought our son into the world in 2013. This was my first experience with childbirth, and a lot of things did not go the way I wanted. I want to write this article so that you can know what happened to me, and because I might teach you a thing or two before you head into Labor and Delivery, too. Read on for my first labor story.

They weren’t lying when they said that parenthood is the most challenging, yet most rewarding, thing that you will ever do. I felt so prepared to bring my son home and begin nourishing him, providing him with safety and love and guidance. I had taken all the classes, bought all of the stuff, double checked all of our lists and asked all of our questions. We were as ready as we could be!… or so we thought. Read on for the real honest account of my first two weeks as a mother.
