So sorry that Real Simple Mama’s website has been down! We had issues with a Bluehost coding problem, and then with their tech support skipping over my help desk ticket. Eep! But we’re back here and happy to be helping again, and 2021 is going to be a beautiful exciting year!
I’m always here, on YouTube, and at theMama@realsimplemama.com so feel free to reach out if I can help!
Happy New Year, and thanks for being here.

Continue readingWell, there you go. You’re here because you’re looking to cool down your chicken coop, right? Especially at night when everyone is roosting with their feathery body heat? Or maybe when they’re laying eggs for your family in a sweltering box? Have no fear, we’ve done the work and put together how to do a solar fan build for your chicken coop… and why you should, too.
Continue readingThe year 2020 has been like a rolling, burning dumpster fire. I’m home all the time with my babies, and while I’m grateful to be protecting my family, the constant headlines and reports have me feeling perpetual dread. Luckily, I have had time to myself to read and I wanted to share some suggestions for books to get you through 2020. Some are educational, some are uplifting, some just make you think. But I’m a better person for it, and I can’t wait to hear your suggestions too!
Continue readingI have a diagnosis of osteoarthritis, severe endometriosis, TMJ, and Myofascial Pain Syndrome. So, yeah, I know pain. I’ve been battling these conditions for years, and I now have an arsenal of things that really make my daily life a lot easier. But I don’t want you to feel like you have to spend a ton of money so you’re not suffering! So here is my list of cheap things to help chronic pain at home. They give me relief and help me live the life I want to live, and my hope is that they will help you too.
Continue readingWe made a backyard pond! It’s been a great project for our little nature-loving family, especially during the shelter-in-place period. It’s an affordable and fun way to add some interest to your yard, and to attract more wildlife. But how do you get started? Check out my review and project build here, including a video tour!
Continue readingMy oldest child, my son and my firstborn, is about to turn seven years old. I say this every year, but I can’t believe it! Every year I write a little love letter to my children on their birthdays, as I reflect on their birth and how our lives have changed, the person they are and the person they will become. Here is Happy Birthday to My Son as he turns seven. Enjoy.
